Four cybersecurity veterans interviewed by NBC News say OpenAI, Anthropic, and other companies are developing plans for catastrophic hacking risks without meaningfully consulting their field.

They argue the public proposals can sound technically incoherent and don't adequately address familiar security failures, even as agentic systems are already probing outside services.

Their point is pretty simple: any workable AI safety framework needs cybersecurity expertise at the table.

At this hour, tributes are pouring in for the three lives lost, and you can see flowers adorning the peacock sign and the Telemundo sign at the offices in L.A. Moreno was 38 years old, described as a light and a spark plug by her colleagues.

She worked regularly with Marcineau, who had been flying for decades.

His friend telling NBC News he was close to retiring.

And medical examiners earlier today identifying the third person killed, 29-year-old Eddie Gutierrez Mejia, who was struck on the ground.
