I mean, the number one goal of these preseason games, even more than, you know, getting reps, building chemistry, gelling with the new look roster, the number one goal is to get through these games healthy.

I mean, obviously, it goes without saying, it's a brutal blow for the Sixers, who were relying on Huck Poarty to be part of their solution at backup center, but also just gutting for him.

I mean, this is a guy who, first of all, everyone that has been around him raves about who he is as a person.

I mean, Tony, we saw it asking those guys after the game about what happened with Ariel Haporti.

You know, a guy like that who seems to really carry himself the right way, who in two years in the league has not gotten a lot of opportunity to play and show what he could do.

who was walking into an incredible opportunity here especially with the dembona being sidelined so far since training camp began he really had a chance to you know establish an early lead in the backup center competition which he might have been doing and to have your season end before it even really starts like that i mean i can't even imagine what he's going through he's already if he's not in surgery as we speak he's probably getting surgery very soon the sixers said his surgeries today Just incredibly unfortunate, even before you get to the basketball ramifications and the roster ramifications, and we'll get to all of that.

I just can't even imagine, and as someone who has already experienced significant injuries in his past, not necessarily in the NBA, but in his past basketball career, It's just gutting.

And that scene last night with his new teammates and his old teammates all surrounding him, with I think everybody having a pretty good sense of what had happened there.

I think we could all, I mean, you know, Tony, we could see on press row where he was grabbing and we all knew basically immediately what had happened there.
yeah i you know i echo those comments 100 it was it was definitely one of those things everybody in the building kind of knew what it was and um you know and this is you know somebody uh who would really come in and made an impact a positive impact in the locker room um in a short amount of time and you know like you said uh you know jabari was Was really gutted.
But you could see, you know, Carl Anthony Towns knew right away exactly what it was.
And he went over and he went and stood over Ariel and whispered, you know, probably asking if he's okay.
He knew exactly, Ariel knew exactly what happened, exactly the moment it happened.
