It was one of the best regular season environments I've ever heard in the building.

I knew that the Blazers would be energized and I expected them to play well, but I did not expect them to have a 30 point lead in the first quarter.

And as I thought about it after the game, I don't think the Suns really knew what they were walking into.

And the Blazers just rode that from when the moment the Dame took the floor to address the crowd to the introductions by Mark Mason.

And then once the game started, just the way the guys played, it was, I don't think Mike Inori could have sat down and scripted out a better opening night for him and the team than the one they had.

Considering it was the largest debut win by any coach in the history of the nba uh yeah i don't think anybody could have scripted that but it also tells you chad again that emotions in this sport really do matter you look at opening night for the kings for their home opener that place was electric that's a great building anyway and for a team that's not supposed to be very good they played pretty darn well and held their own and we'll get to that but again it tells you that Yes, the game matters.

But those things like momentum and energy and intensity and emotion, all of those things really do play a part in the story of the game.

So the the crowd can energize the players, but the players can also energize the crowd with their play.

And when you have guys flying around with reckless abandon and committed to playing good defense and really showing their physicality, that's going to energize the crowd.

And I thought the players, the way that they played the game, committing to both ends really energized the crowd.

So, frankly, it was exactly what I wanted to see, and it was a perfect opening night.

But the overall effort that the players gave, everyone that played made a contribution, and it was just awesome.

And then you throw back in the fact that Dame returned and looked great, made the night even better.
