Okay.
Well, Cody, you set me up nicely here.
This week's theme is basically whatever I could find on streaming at this point because I'm home with the baby.
I have a lot of time in the evening.
And so in the spirit of trying to find like a unifying theme, I decided to go with two documentaries that were recently released onto streaming.
So let's start with the AI doc or how I became an apocalyptic optimist.
Ooh, that's a tough one.
That is a tough one.
This was directed by Daniel Rohrer and Charlie Tyrell, and it was released this year, 2026.
The logline reads, a father-to-be tries to figure out what is happening with this AI insanity.
So I'll open this up with just asking you guys, do you guys feel like you're more optimistic or pessimistic when it comes to AI and our future?
Can I say both? I feel like it kind of changes from one day to the other, how I'm feeling about it.
Sure.
Yeah,
I agree with that.
I'll say that artistically, creatively, just so pessimistic.
But at the same time, a lot of promising things in the medical field, scientific fields, you know, so it's very much like take the good with the bad.
Yeah.
Or, you know, vice versa.
And so, yeah, very conflicted.
Yep.
I'd say I'm pretty much right there with both you guys on that.
The AI doc, it uses a really effective framing device.
So it's filmmaker has just learned that his wife is pregnant and it forces him to confront his own growing anxieties about artificial general intelligence or AGI as they refer to.
And since my wife and I recently welcomed our son into the world, I probably couldn't be the more ideal audience for this.
Okay.
