Just as expected... | Benfica 4-1 Celtic | MATCH REACTION!

For the record, let me make this clear.

Absolutely hate that I'm no surprised.

And that's why I'm no starting the match reaction screaming and shouting or getting the reaction that some might want.

I'm no surprised.

This is exactly what I expected from Celtic tonight.

In fact, truth be told, I expected it to be worse.

It was on track for being worse.

But Benfica took it a wee bit lighter on us at the start of that second half.

And instead of going up, you know, 4-5-0, you know, they gave Celtic a wee bit of an opening in the game.

I still think we were better in the second half.

We'll get to that.

But this is it now.

This is the, you know, the same old apathy that sets in after these games nowadays, but especially tonight.

You know, let me make it clear though.

This is a very different match reaction to what could have been.

Because, you know, 45 minutes in, 50 minutes in, before we found ourselves, you know, with a chance back in the game, this match reaction was going to be very, very different.

And it actually might have been me screaming and shouting down the camera.

But I absolutely hate that it's come to this.

I hate that us as Celtic fans have been subject to just accepting our fate in Europe, expecting us to get pumped every time we rock up.

Essentially, we are the whipping boys of Europe.

That's that.

And it's not going to change anytime soon.

Tonight, Celtic, we aren't good enough.

Despite, you know, despite some moments of encouragement in the second half, despite looking generally better, but the same old problems just rearing their head time and time again throughout the game.

Questionable coaching decisions, questionable starting 11 decisions, set piece coaching that has to be addressed after tonight.
