Anne SchlaflyGuestI wasn't planning on talking about this particular topic, but as I was going through some things prior to showtime, there was a release sent out by the Colorado GOP's secretary, Russ Andrews, and it's titled Colorado GOP Secretary Russ Andrews Breaks Party Line, Endorses Greg Lopez for Governor.
So, uh, Andrews says, "There comes a point in time when a party loyalty, when party loyalty must give way to conscience, character, and what is right." Yeah, that's laughable.
Uh, Colorado Republican Party secretary and House District 57 Republican nominee Russ Andrews today endorsed unaffiliated gubernatorial candidate and former Republican congressman Greg Lopez for governor, saying recent developments surrounding the Republican nominee Victor Marks have made it impossible for him in good conscience to support the Republican ticket for governor.
You can no longer be a part of the Colorado Republican Party, and by the way, be on the payroll, 'cause you are, uh, a- as the secretary, you are on payroll.
I- in fact, um, all of you that are in charge, uh, St- Mr. Steiner, uh, he needs to go.
There is freedom of speech, like Andy and I talk about all the time, but there's also consequences for that speech, i.e. this case.
He's gonna do this, and he's gonna do that, but I only have to read one paragraph.
There's a whole, uh, diatribe of nonsense that he gets into, and my, my feeling is, great, Russ.
Uh, you should not have any position of leadership inside of the party, uh, whatsoever, if that's, if that's what you're doing.
