Well, if the majority rules to take away your property, let's say 51 to 50 in the Senate...

You're screwed.

That's why we have two-thirds majority in the Senate and in the House.

That's why if we were a pure democracy, do you know how chaotic it would be? We'd have to go to the polls every month or every two months and vote, and there would be anarchy in the streets, wouldn't there, at some point?
