Ep 434 - Lions @ Cardinals Preview

All right, Paul, a couple of bits of news for us.

The first one assigning today, the defensive tackle Jeffrey Mbar, the guy from Gabon, I think.

Is it Gabon? I want to say it is, but I'm not actually 100% sure.

Whereas, yeah, Libreville Gabon has joined the Lions on the practice squad.

He also takes up an international player pathway position.

So I do not believe he's actually taking a roster spot.

Hassanine does not take that up because he's on the main roster.

Signed for the Commanders as a UDFA at 27 years old.

I don't know if you know anything about him at all.

Played at SMU last year.

I knew he was at SMU.

I know he's 6'6", about 312, 315 pounds.

Didn't know he was 27, I'll be honest.

But he's an intriguing size and length, so see what he's got.

He was very good at SMU.

He has a lot of fans coming out, but an intriguing player.

And then the last bit of news we have is some quite exciting news for Lions fans in that Brian Branch and Cade Mays have had their practice windows open.

So they are on the injury report because, of course, they have to be because they are not at full go.

But we've talked ad nauseum about whether personnel is the problem, but it's not going to hurt to get your starting centre and strong safety back.

No, I am trying to temper expectations because...

They're not going to play this week.

They're not playing this week.

I can't see a world in which either of them are on the field this week.

So I am trying to temper expectations a little bit and they're both coming off relatively serious in case of Branch, very serious injuries.

So they might take a few weeks to get up and running.
