Reds Lose Their Closer

We got some Reds transaction news today for the first time in what feels like a long time.

Baseball's been captivated with a World Series, an all-time World Series.

Shout out to the Milwaukee Brewers on winning their first World Series championship in team history.

Pretty special season, of course.

Bob Euchre, you know, everybody was playing for him.

And I think it gives a...

And it's funny because after multiple seasons of the Dodgers reign, the Dodgers dynasty, the evil empire, they just went out and bought everybody and then did it not only in a way bigger than anybody else.

They did it in a way that was like, we're not even going to actually pay them.

We're just going to hunt it and we're going to delay it.

We're going to defer everything.

So we're not even going to pay them for anything.

It was like insult to injury what they were able to do.

And then at the trade deadline, go out and just pick up, you know, the best pitcher in maybe the last decade, two Cy Youngs, probably the best active pitcher, Tariq Scruble.

Everybody was calling a foul that the Dodgers were ruining baseball.

Their manager even said it himself, let's go ruin baseball.

And, you know, they did.

But it's interesting that the Brewers and the Rays were in the World Series, two of the smallest market teams with – Tremendously less resources than the Dodgers and the Cleveland Guardians were also in it in the championship series.

So does it give a team like the Reds hope? You know, it's a lot more than the salary cap because as our co-host C.

Trent Rosecrans likes to bring up and our other co-host Danny Graves, there is institutional issues that are rampant across baseball and a lot of teams.

And unfortunately, the Cincinnati Reds are afflicted.

And it's not so simple as just, you know, increasing the salary cap.

I mean, look at the Reds' history of signing free agents.

Mike Moustakas.

I mean, was there ever a guy that was more miserable to watch at the plate? Nick Castellanos, which was a good signing, I thought, but he didn't see through his full contract.

The Reds didn't make an offer.
