Perla BatallaGuestChris SlusarenkoHostWell, it's so funny because, you know, besides discovering his records, you know, later in my life at the video store, we had various documentaries about him beyond the one we're going to talk about today.
And it did seem like when you were working with him later, had he found – any piece

well when i first started working with him it was 1988 so um i think he was delighted with how that record i'm your man had been accepted and celebrated all over Europe.

Still, he wasn't that well known in the States and it was hard for him to get bookings here.

And it was polar opposite from the United States, but he was thrilled to be in Europe.

We were a family, you know, different from what he, the last two tours that he did all over the world.

with his group and it felt a little for me there was a disconnect when i saw the concert and not just because you know i favored the time i was in the band with him but there was a disconnect between a lot of the you know the different elements on stage but But with us, he created a family atmosphere and he was just very happy back then.

and really trying to figure out whether he should just go you know be a monk um at mount baldy but also you know um his his life that was so uh full of this he sacrificed a lot of things for his work and i think doing that you do feel a great loss.
