Spookier is kind of the word I would use.

And as it developed, the album I kind of grew very close to was the Off-Broadway production, which still had many of the cast members, Amber Gray as Persephone, Patrick Page as Hades.

But Orpheus and Eurydice had totally different characterizations.

And I want to say, as far as that production, right now, I think it's like a 50-50 in the final production between Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone as far as character.

Um, he was played by Chris Sullivan at the time and it's where here, um, i've never really been a big fan of andre de shield's interpretation of hermes i really do not like the broadway kind of much more ambivalent kind narrator vibe where i kind of just like the gods all kind of being dicks

i feel like the gods all kind of being dicks is sort of uh the og greek mythology vibe as well like you know yeah like the gods the gods in those stories do not do good things out of the kindness of their hearts

Patrick Page even said on Instagram recently and he plays Hades and has since the beginning he says I that this basically Hades was built around is dependent on Amber Grace Persephone I really don't do anything except react to her.

We've been in this project together since 2016, a whole decade of our lives.

It's not, we're not even on Orpheus.

We're on Patrick Page as Hades the entire time and his lip is quivering.

He begins to tear up and it's like, you wouldn't watch him in a musical that way, the same way that you would in this pro shot.

So I also think, You know I saw the original cast on Broadway so many years ago and now to see the original cast again reprising their roles you can really see like I can really see the difference in how much they like grow into it.

I actually feel like more magic is captured in this pro shot than, than on stage.

You get a really good look at everything around.

Um, also shout out to, it was the UK fates and the UK workers, um, along with the original Broadway cast and Patrick Page's amazing, um, steampunk leg brace because he like tore his Achilles or broke his foot in

rehearsal or something.

So Iago is the most dangerous kind of villain because he's smart enough to see what the other characters can't and he just lays quietly and wait for them.

I was very fortunate while working on this play to get the opportunity to see Patrick Page's one-man show, All the Devils Are Here.

Shannon and I went a couple weeks ago.

The show basically traces the development of Shakespeare's villain characters through all the plays, beginning with Aaron in Titus Andronicus through Iago to Macbeth.

What he seems to really want is to cause pain in others.

And through that, he finds his power or his gratification or whatever it is he finds in hurting other people.

I think the answer to this, at least according to Patrick Page, is Iago is a sociopath.

And he'd done some research why this was, and so I looked into that.

Audience, if you haven't seen Spirited on Apple TV with Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds, it is one of the greatest.

And Patrick Page.

And Patrick Page, original Hades on Broadway.

Yeah.

And Tracy Morgan.

But, yeah.

You know, I've recently been doing some shows in New York with a Broadway personality, Patrick Page, who was in 80s town.

And he contacted me saying, oh, we should do a show of Leonard Cohen tunes.

I'm such a huge fan.

And, and he knew that.

And I always, I always yelled at him afterwards, but I, I, really think he comes to me in different ways.

And through this getting to work with Patrick Page, I think it's Leonard.

I mean, I really do.
