This episode covers the first part of *Iron Gold* and tracks three major threads: Darrow’s escalating break with the Republic, Lyria’s devastating loss and decision to leave, and Lysander’s capture on…
um and we kind of just jump right into it really um darrow is not gonna quite follow the senate and so he decides that he's gonna just kind of go take down the ash lord by himself he does corral the howlers and he's like i'm gonna go take down the ash lord you all don't have to come with me or you can it's totally your choice and then lyria is dealing with the aftermath of attack on her camp She kind of just then becomes aware of the state of the rest of her family.
You know, she had checked in on her dad.
She still couldn't find her sister or her sister's children.
She does actually notice their shoes and sees their bodies.
It's very sad.
She meets up with Kavax and, you know, he thanks her for saving him.
He's leaving.
She rushes out after him.
I actually, I'm not a Lyria fan.
I really liked this part because I was like, go good for you you've actually like at least championed for yourself and is like no take me with you because one us ain't in this mess and then ephraim we kind of find out we're introduced to a couple new characters in this section ephraim we find out who actually punched him and like kidnapped him turns out it's the duke of hands I don't believe we've heard about the Duke of Hands up until this point, but he seems to be a big CD underground boss, but ultimately still reports to the Queen, who is mentioned.
So we find out that they kidnapped Ephraim really for a job.
They don't quite get into it.
Ephraim does tell his team about this and what this job is.
We still don't get specifics on it, but we know that his team is very wary of it.
They end up deciding that they will do it.
Lysander and Cassius, they get captured as they get to that asteroid.
Lysander is hogtied, punched.
And they do introduce one of my other favorite characters in this series, Diomedes.
He does kind of show up at the end.
And that's sort of where we end is like when Diomedes comes about and is like, go treat my sister because we find out that, oh, okay, that's Serafina.
And yeah.
That's sort of the wrap on this next section.
And this concludes like part one.
Yeah.
