Not to keep harping on old Guy Gavriel Kay, but man, he managed to put in a level of epicness into those books that is kind of rare.

It's similar to Pierce Brown and Red Rising.

There's this epic tone when they're given speeches before they drop in from the atmosphere onto a planet or whatever.

you just jump so there's loyalty that you jump straight to red rising uh for maybe it is

well why i thought of it is because you thought of you were like thanks for championing the championing platonic male relationships and i was like oh darrow and zevro um so that's why i thought of it that's why it was in my mind i don't

Now, I won't spoil the series, but he did this in book one.

And a character that dies in book one that everybody loves in Red Rising is gone in book one.

And it changed the trajectory of what he had to do in book two and so on.

He does that every now and then.

And it put him into a writing block for a little bit.

I will say, just to wrap this up and completely change the subject, we love the Red Rising series here.

And as much as some of your comments might have hurt the one part of me, I could not disagree with a single thing you said in your Red Rising first trilogy review.
