Thoughts from the start of Bruins training camp

Um, did want to talk a little bit about training camp.

We're a few days in, uh, the Bruins actually had a scrimmage on the day I'm recording this, which is Saturday.

Um, A one to nothing game for the scrimmage.

Narvin Mutter had the only goal, which you would have won a lot of money on prize picks or somewhere else if you had picked that he was going to score the goal in the preseason scrimmage before the preseason games get going.

They will play a preseason game on Sunday at TD Garden at five o'clock.

So we will be able to actually see a hockey game and start to break down the performances and what we see on the ice.

Some interesting notes from camp so far.

I think it's been a good camp.

Minimal injuries.

I think Billy Sweezy got hurt the first day of camp.

That's the only player.

He had an upper body injury.

The only player that's been hurt.

Some really intriguing combos and some ideas of what the Bruins are going to do and who they want to play together.

I think the most interesting one is obviously Fraser Minton centering James Higgins and Marat, who's the Dean off kind of a kid line, a really exciting line.

I think that could generate a lot of offense that, that certainly has a lot of skill and speed and creativity.

And they are going to play in that first preseason game at TD garden.

So you're going to get a chance to look at that.

Probably I would say, Suspect Marco Sturm is going to put those three players together since they've skated together and they're in the game day lineup.

So I think that's been the most interesting thing, the most notable thing to look at in Bruins preseason camp in the training camp so far.

uh interesting that frederick brunet is in a pairing with charlie mcavoy the young the d man that the bruins want to win a spot on this roster and and you know get some playing time and start a car about a niche for himself um as a smooth skating uh puck moving defenseman um And he's going to start off with Charlie McAvoy.

The Bruins have a long tradition of doing this.

I remember Charlie McAvoy's first camp, and he talked about this the other day.

He was with Zidane O'Chara as a pairing in camp, and that was a big deal to him then, and O'Chara really took care of him, and now he's trying to do the same thing for Brunais.

So I think that's a nice...
