Hey, Mick, before we get to you on this question, I want to circle back to Providence for one sec.

How have Steeves and Lucas Reichel been?

Steeves, I believe, is fighting through something right now.

The league doesn't keep track of... who, who hits the most posts posts, but if they did, Alex Steve's might be at the top of the list.

You know, he's got that, he's got that big shot and, uh, and you know, he's beaten, uh, there was a series in Hershey a couple of weekends ago where he, he was ringing the iron left and right with no goals.

Maybe you don't play

as much as you do.

I mean, that's...

They're not benching these guys for guys that are not part of their future.

Like they're not benching them for Alex Steeves or Mikey Asimov or Henry Yoki Haru.

Like like no, like they're letting them go.

And they made hard calls to get those guys in the lineup.

He's gotta get going.

Steeves.

That's a lot of Melis stat line too.

You know, like Jordan Harris, like there's some dudes down there, it's just...

So can he get there? It's still early.

You know, Alex Steeves had a run like this too, let's not forget.

Don't mean to be Debbie Downer.

He did.

Uh, he's gonna have to make some hard decisions about contracts.

You can't hand out a contract to every single young guy.

He can't hand out an extension to every Alex Steeves or Marat Khusnutdinov or every single young guy that comes through.

Can't do it.

And those guys are on the way, barring any blockbuster trades.

So that is the most important thing for this Bruins team, is to continue getting younger and continue growing and getting faster and more skilled and growing simultaneously building a winning culture and they're learning marco storm system and i can't emphasize enough for you guys i know some of you might not agree with me but i'm thinking most of you would this team is better and faster more skilled with frederick brunet and Matt Patra and James Higgins in this lineup instead of Sean Corrales and Connor Clifton and Mikey Acemont or Alex Steeves.

You add Freddie Brunet and Matt Patra and James Higgins into this lineup full-time with J.J. Paterka, who's 24, with Fraser Minton, who's 22, with Murat Huzedinov, who's 24.

This team's getting younger and faster by the game.

He, he skates at BU with everybody.

Uh, he still has his place here, although he's renting it out to Alex Steeves, who's now in Providence, by the way.

Who, someone told me, by the way, someone told me that Steeves looks awful in Providence.

A player personnel guy I was t- I was like, "How did this guy get this contract?" He's been, he's been miserable down in Providence according to someone I was-

So even if you sign Zacha at 10 million, okay, and you sign, um, Loree at seven million, okay, you've still got $9 million in cap space, uh, with, uh, Matt Patra to sign.

Um, and that's having Alex Steeves in place of Sean Kuraly as your 13th forward.

And then you've gotta repla- you gotta replace Casey Mittelstadt.

So is $9 million-

Lucas Reichel, nearly 200 games, younger player still, but he's down in Providence.

Alex Steeves, down in Providence.

Jordan Harris, down in Providence.

All these guys have NHL experience, and they're down in Providence, and they were subjected to waivers so the Bruins wouldn't lose a player like Matt Patra or Freddie Brunet, and that they could make this roster.

So, um, he also said, um, they also said, "We're not apologizing for our depth either," and that some young guys are gonna be, you know, you know, licking their chops to get into the NHL.

He, uh, Sweeney specifically mentioned Steeves and, uh, Henry Jokiharju as one, as two of the people that got beat by Hagins and Brunet to make the roster, which we're not crazy surprised.

Um, but they're saying ...

But and then there's rumors coming or going out now that the Bruins are looking for a new home for Henry Jokiharju, which leads me to my next point.

It's nice to see young guys beat out veterans.

But the fact that now you have this cap anchor, even though it's, you know, he's in the AHL, the cap hit doesn't really hurt.

It's just like now that Steeves and that Jokiharju contract kinda look like head scratchers because it's like why, why did we do that? And I get if Sweeney's plan is, you know, lock these guys up in case they're lottery tickets, and then we can probably ship them out for nothing because the, the cap is going up.

But now you're in a situation where you can't get rid of them, and I can't imagine he's super happy with the situation.
