Hi, everyone, and welcome to the June 2026 edition of the PRS Journal Club podcast.
My name is Chris Kalmar, PRS resident ambassador from Vanderbilt, and I'm joined by my resident co-ambassadors, Lucas Harrison from UT Southwestern Medical Center and Priyanka Naidoo from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Devinder Singh is Chief Professor and Program Director, Plastic Surgery at University of Miami and Jackson Health System in Miami, Florida.
He went to college at Brown University, medical school at Columbia University, and combined residency in general surgery and plastic surgery at Yale University.
After residency, he joined the faculty in plastic surgery at the University of Maryland at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
From 2011 to 2016, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley appointed Dr. Singh to be the only plastic surgeon on the state medical board, which is responsible for protecting the public health through licensing, disciplinary processes, and regulatory oversight.
With over 100 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and other publications to his name, Dr. Singh is a widely recognized expert and international leader in our specialty.
His recent publications in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the International Wound Journal cover topics such as advanced techniques in breast reconstruction and the benefits of closed incision negative pressure therapy.
Dr. Singh specializes in reconstruction after cancer surgery, including microvascular breast reconstruction and nose reconstruction of the face.
