Join Mary Jo (Pines) and Kellie (Pluto) as they celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Poitcast! In this festive episode, all the hard questions will be asked. Were their goals for the podcast met?…
On July 27th, 2026, the official Twitter for Coyote vs. Acme dropped a tweet for the film's marketing campaign, which included a batch of photos of past lawsuits filed against the Acme Corporation with various names redacted, and one of them was centered on Animaniacs.
The lawsuit, INC-0163, was filed in 1994 by Yakko Warner from the episode Cookies for Einstein, which was released in 1993, but I digress, and the product was an Acme Hair Magnet, which was used in Acme Labs.
In the bottom of the complimentary closing signature reads, "The same thing we do every night." I'm already excited for Coyote vs.
Acme, because the film has an awesome premise of Wile E. Coyote suing Acme Corporation, which was based off of a short story published by The New Yorker in 1990, but the film was unfairly shelved because of tax breaks.
So I'm rooting for this film to succeed, but the fact that Coyote vs. Acme included Pinky and the Brain specifically in its marketing campaign is telling that the folks behind the film did their homework and truly love the classic WB characters.
And it might be wishful thinking on my part, but I would love for Pinky and the Brain to make a cameo appearance in the film, because the mice reside in Acme Labs, which is heavily connected to Acme Corporation.
But despite their failures, they still persevere and keep going, which is an admirable trait that both characters share.
But anyhoo, I'm glad that Coyote vs. Acme gave Pinky and the Brain a shout-out, and please go see Coyote vs. Acme when it's in theaters on August 28th.
The film has been receiving positive praise from earlier screenings, and I want the film to make Zootopia 2 levels of money at the box office, not only to spite David Zaslav and other top brass for not giving the film its due the first time around, but also to give the dedicated crew members on the film all the recognition they deserve.
