THE BRIAN BAILEY SHOW WITH ECU GREAT & TORONTO BLUE JAYS PITCHER TREY YESAVAGE by Pirate Radio
All
Thrilled to have Trey Yesavage live in the studio again, taking your questions and comments on our YouTube chat page.
Trey coming off the injury, and he kind of smiled when I asked about it because he said, hey, I'm fine now.
At least you get the freedom of going into the offseason, not having any limitations, and just going to work.
What's the offseason like for you? Before we talk about all the accolades and everything you've done in the last couple of years, but in the offseason, how much do you have to work out now, and how do you go from there?
Just getting work in and haven't been throwing yet, but that starts here in a few weeks.
Do the Blue Jays keep up with what you're doing right now? Do you report back to them what you're up to, that kind of thing?
Yeah, so I actually had a meeting last week about the throwing plan and how to build up and what to be ready for come spring training.
Even though it's a far ways out, we just still want to make sure everything's in line and whatnot.
And then workout-wise, they have an app that they just put the workouts in, and I follow that.
When you start your professional career, even as a high draft pick, the 20th selection in the first round in 2024, even at that, the odds of making it are better for you, obviously, than most players because you are a first-round draft pick.
But when you're going through the minors, was there ever a time you're like, man, I just don't know if I've got it to get all the way to the show?
Every first outing I had at an affiliate, so like my single A debut, double A debut, triple A debut, I would walk the house and get hit around and I would struggle.
When you get to AAA then, and you're getting ready to make your first start, is it in your head that, hey, you know, I've kind of sucked at single A, sucked at double A, as far as the first game goes, and then I got, you know, I righted the ship.
