Episode 2: Eastern Conference Over/Unders & Offseason Grades

Their current Vegas line is 43 and a half wins.

In the off-season, they drafted Kingston Flemings out of Houston, Zuby Ejiofor out of St. John's, and Henry Vissar out of UNC.

Sadly, Vissar suffered an ACL injury, so he's probably going to miss the entire season.

Um, especially as a rookie, they're probably gonna just hold off-

Yeah

... and wait for him to be next year.

They are returning key players such as Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson, first time all-star last year, Nikola Alexander-Walker, the NBA's most improved player, Onyeka Okongwu.

They lost Buddy Hield in a trade.

They lost Jonathan Kaminga in free agency to the Timberwolves, and they traded away the 2023 first overall pick, Zachary Echiwov to the Dallas Mavericks.

They brought in, in free agency and through trades, they brought in Lou Dort from the Thunder, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Aaron Wiggins, also from the Thunder, while re-signing John Landale and CJ McCollum.

[clears throat]

Coach, how do you feel about Atlanta for this year? How did you like their off-season? What do you think about this team?

So what I see is grit.

This team has got a lot of just, like, tough, gritty dudes.

When you look at their draft, you got Fleming and, and, uh, Zuby.

These two came from what are considered the two, like, toughest college basketball teams, right? You have Houston and St.

John's.

Samson, Samson and Bettino alone.

Not even, uh, uh, regardless of the school.

Yeah, like these are dudes...

But I will say this, the worry is, is these Houston guys are tough but, you know, maybe I'm slipping here, but which one of them recently has popped in the NBA?

[inhales] Quentin Grimes has had, like, a decent career, but at the end of the day, like, I don't know if he's exactly, like, this higher caliber Houston guy.

Um, but Kingston Flemings to me has kind of been arguably the best player-

Yes
