Hi, Mummy Bear.
How are you?
Quite tired at the moment.
Oh, crikey.
Working long shifts.
You are.
That's 'cause the washer-uppers-
[laughs]
... jumped ship.
He's a bit of a washer upper.
[laughs]
Is that a song?
Yes, the...
No, not about washer-uppers.
Okay.
He's a bit of a fixer-upper.
[laughs] Okay.
It's a Disney film.
Anyways, yeah, the washing up guy isn't there.
He just decided he didn't feel like coming in.
No.
So we had a lot of people in, and so it meant working long shifts to-
A lot of people and not enough dishes.
Exactly.
So you have to, we'd have to wash up a whole load-
Mm-hmm
... whilst we were doing things.
Yeah.
If we had like a, the teeniest bit of space where usually you'd just be able to stand there and get your breath, no, go in, wash up a whole load of dishes for the kitchen.
Yeah.
Make sure then they're all properly dried and everything, and then they can get more food out.
Well, that's the cut and thrust of working in a restaurant, sweetie.
Thank you.
[laughs]
[laughs]
Anyway, so just long hours.
But throughout the whole weekend, 'cause I got my first paycheck-
Yes
... from-
Miss Moneybags
[laughs] Miss Moneybags.
Got my first paycheck, which was just really nice to get-
Yeah
...
the other day.
And so I thought to myself, "Oh, you've worked really, really hard this weekend.
You've worked pretty much two people's jobs."
Yeah.
Uh, you're going to go on a little bit of a sh- shopping spree-
Yes
... 'cause I don't do that often, and I'm just going to really enjoy.
So I'm actually going off today, this afternoon to do that.
You're gonna go spend your hard-earned cash.
Yes.
What's nice also is all the tips that come in.
Oh my gosh, yes.
I really like the look of that.
Then you just come in and fan a load of notes at me.
[laughs]
[laughs]
Say, "Here's my week's tips."
It feels so nice.
It's adding up, isn't it?
It is adding up.
I-
But you're not gonna blow it all on-
No
... shrivelous stuff, are you?
No, no.
You might as well save for something good.
Yeah, absolutely.
Like your first house, let's say.
[laughs]
[laughs] I mean-
Good luck with that.
Yeah.
[laughs]
I'll, I'll go towards a car maybe, but not a, not a house.
Yeah, but you need a roof over your head, sweetie.
It's called a car roof.
[laughs]
Oh, right.
Okay.
And the back seats of a car.
Uh-
And Mummy's place
... and Mummy.
[laughs] Mummy.
[laughs]
Can I please sleep in, please?
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
You and every other teenager and young person, it's impossible getting on the property ladder.
Yeah, it's so blooming hard.
It is so blooming hard.
Anyways, so a bit tired from that.
Enjoy- looking forward to my day.
Yeah.
And 'cause I take in mint for the restaurant, for the mojitos-
[laughs]
... uh, some of the mint, I'm always checking on the mint at the moment, and when I checked on it the other day, 'cause it started flowering, some of it, I let some of it flower.
There were loads of these butterflies on it.
Oh, lovely.
Kind of brown with the little eyes, you know, on the wings.
Um-
Quite small, not-
So like tortoise sh- oh, small ones.
Yeah, yeah.
Not particularly big.
Oh, you have to get a photo, and we'll ID them.
Yeah.
Anyways, there were like 20-odd, all, all of the same species-
Oh, wow
... all on one, like, bunch of flowers.
Oh, how lovely.
It's quite amazing.
Yeah, really attracting those, those butterflies.
Oh, take your camera out next time.
Yeah.
It'd be nice to see what those butterflies are.
Are they something-
Mm
... you've seen before?
Yeah, definitely seen them before.
Oh, okay.
They, they look common.
Oh.
They're definitely not something-
That's rude
... like... [laughs] They're, they're not something that you'd be like, "Oh my gosh."
Okay.
But they're just pre- they're really pretty, and especially-
Yeah
... kind of against the purple-y flowers and then the, that kind of deep green of-
Yes
...
the mint.
The lushness of that mint.
It looks really lovely.
So-
How nice
... very happy with that.
I went through, I did a whole load of weeding, got out all of this kind of rye grass.
I think we figured out-
Yes
...
it was from the green manure mix.
Yeah.
So I just took a, I took a lot of that out just because it was crowding a little bit.
I kept loads of other weeds in, just because it was creating this nice rainforest scape.
It's been a living mulch.
Exactly.
It's been perfect.
It has been absolutely amazing.
And we've been getting courgette, so I cut one the other day-
Yeah
... for our salad, thinly sliced.
Oh my gosh.
Whacking in.
You made the most incredible salad the other day-
Mm
So it had-
Baby chard
... tomatoes, courgettes, chard, lettuce, basil.
Mm-hmm.
Uh, purple basil specifically.
Yeah.
And then I put in some, a little bit of feta cheese-
Yeah
... 'cause I wanted a slightly Greek style.
Some sliced almonds, which next time-
Oh, so good
...
I will roast.
I was like, yeah-
Toast them
... toast them.
And then, uh, just a tin of green beans.
Mm-hmm.
Whack that in.
For more protein.
For just some protein.
And it was so good.
That was such a good salad, sweetie.
Mm.
You are welcome to make that every day if you want.
Oh.
So nice, especially when it's hot.
Yeah.
It's lovely to have something cooling like that.
Yeah, exactly.
Get all the colors, get your protein.
Mm-hmm.
Absolutely perfect.
Exactamento.
