We are here with you this afternoon on Thursday, the 24th, September 2026. with some breaking news.
It does look like after, I don't know, I'd probably say, what is it, almost two weeks now, North End have found their man.
Because this afternoon, news broke that North End were going to be, this is from The Telegraph, that North End were going to be asking permission for Bradford City to speak to North End legend.
Graeme Alexander overtaking over the role as manager.
And Bradford this afternoon have released a statement, an official statement, and it reads, Bradford City can confirm we have been approached by Preston North End to speak to Graeme Alexander regarding the Skybet Championship side's managerial vacancy.
Reluctantly, Bradford City has granted permission for Graeme to speak to Preston North End.
The club will be making no further comment at this time.
Now, look, obviously, Paul Heckenbottom left the club just under two weeks ago, okay? It did look like stuff had been leaked that Robbie Keane was the number one choice.
We spoke about this from the start.
Obviously, Alexander did have some time as North End manager, six games during the 11-12 season.
Then they actually, can you imagine this now all this time later, they actually chose Graham Wesley over Graham Alexander to become the next manager.
But look, I think, It's official.
North End have gone for Alexander.
I can't see Alexander not.
They will have reached out before this official approach was made, whether that's right or not.
They'll have sent feelers out.
So Alexander clearly is interested in the job.
So I think you can safely say that Graham Alexander will be the next North End manager.
Boring.
Unless Ridsdale goes in there trying to haggle him down a couple of grand for his wages.
But...
For me, people, the main thing is what do I think of that appointment? I think...
Now, he probably wouldn't have been my first choice, but I am more than happy for Graham Alexander to be North End manager.
