Ryan Lowe

So there's a little bit of football snobbery when it comes to Lincoln City.

But when you are a club our size, and, and to be fair to Daniel, like we aspire to be what Preston were under Mi- uh, Ryan Lowe.

You know, we wanna finish 10th or 11th in the Championship because with respect, Preston probably not as big as some of the clubs in the Championship, but bigger than others.

But y- I, I think we could emulate that, and somehow, you know, you've got to make that work.

And if that's long ball and, you know, 6'4", 6'8" monsters up top, so be it.

Uh, are you, are you a living embodiment of that wolverine meme cluck- clutching the picture of Ryan Lowe right now?

And obviously, the manager's been coming in for loads of flack.

But if you compare it to when, say, Ryan Lowe and Frankie were under the pump from fans and...

I remember we beat Bristol City at home 2-0 and it wasn't like a real feeling of, yes, we needed that and we're going to move forward.

There's probably people who maybe wanted us to even lose that match, if you remember.

But he did have a good game.

He's sort of stepping up to it and he feels like it'd be harsh to drop him.

I know Gibbs has come in, but going forward, he's striking up quite a good understanding with Loire, isn't he? It's nice to have that balance as well with the left footer as well in the middle of the park.

Yeah, nice foil for him.

It's implicit in there that they're not funding the club properly.

Ryan Lowe took a lot of shit last season, but it's kind of maybe starting to become evident that he kind of was just waiting out until he got sacked and he wasn't particularly happy at the level of investment he got.

So, yeah, I think they're in a spot of bother at the moment.

I think Owen Dale is probably also fairly similar.

Probably his best position in my eyes would be a wing-back in, like, an attacking Ryan Lowe-style 3-5-2, because he's not really a defender as such, but he does get back well and dig in.

So, I do agree, kind of, with Sorinola and Owen Dale, there are similarities, but...

I think with Sarnola, you view him more as a defender.

Blackburn away two in a row, you know, when he scored on his debut and then the winner.

And he's had some incredible defensive performances, especially maybe on the Ryan Lowe, where I thought he, you know, he just looked more like this towering defender that we've been kind of crying out for since like Patrick Bauer, you know, kind of not started playing, you know what I mean? You know, when he started playing less games because of injury and, you know, And I do miss that Liam Lindsay, but this Liam Lindsay now is someone who is shot of confidence, someone who isn't good enough to be playing championship football, and that's not going to help for his confidence.

And I do feel like this is a guy who's also been thrown under the bus.

Because we are here talking about him, talking about how bad he's been.

and the two other teams they play at the start of september um yeah i could see him getting enough points on the board that will just about keep him in a job um i think long term you're potentially looking at a manager whose time is probably um already I don't think he'll stay in his job for too much longer.

I think it's interesting as well the way that he arrived at Preston back in 2024 when Ryan Lowe was sacked after one game of the season.

Hopefully, he won't have too many more games in charge and won't suffer the same fate as the man he took over from.

One to keep an eye on, I think, certainly in the next couple of weeks and particularly their upcoming games as well.
