Adam DruckerGuestHey everyone, welcome back to another fall edition.
We are recapping the first week of regional action.
If you are following along this fall, we are tracking who qualifies for the NCAA singles and doubles tournament later this fall in Athens, Georgia.
We have had the All-American Championships where we had 10 singles qualifiers.
And now we are in the throes of regional qualifying where there are 13 regions.
Some of them happened this past weekend.
The remaining happening this coming week.
And the two finalists in each of those regions and the regional champion in doubles earned their spot at NCAAs.
Joining me to recap all of the regions across men and women, it's Adam Drucker.
Adam, welcome back.
I bet you learned a lot of new names this past week, or... players who have transferred i forgot that like regionals was really the place that i start to learn about all of these transfers all americans yes but i'm still learning about players who transferred but any revelations for you this past week

I think in terms of the transfer department, I'm honestly kind of bad sometimes, whereas I recognize the player and I forget that they are attached to a specific school unless they've been a part of that school's narrative for a while.

If they've been a part of it for like a year and then they're swapping, I forget.

But it is like, sometimes you have to, especially when looking at these players lists and these draws, lots of double takes, triple takes even, just to be like, am i missing a name here like wait is this the same person as i think it is like am i like something there's the inkling in my mind that i have this familiarity with this name and i just can't put my finger on it and there was a lot of that um but yeah it was also a lot of getting used to some new names there are lots of surprises this past week weekend so lots of new names to uncover and learn more about
Yeah, I think the one I texted you about was Jennifer Jackson transferring from TCU to Texas Tech.
And that gets confusing when they're in the same region and then they only show the school name for that first round.
So if you're moving on, I'm just like, oh, yeah, Jennifer Jackson, TCU.
And it's like.
wait a minute Jennifer Jackson Texas Tech so yes definitely a lot of new names in new places and then I would say in general the those first few days of this past week of regional like there were a lot of upsets and we'll talk about those as we go through each of the regions but that certainly was one of the big storylines a lot of top seeds across these regions losing not just losing but like losing very early on in their respective regions and so that probably transitions us adam to the first regional that we'll talk about which was the northwest women's regional here close to home hosted by stanford and we'll do the women first and then we will go to the men and so your finalists here adam It was Alyssa Ahn, the Stanford sophomore, and Annamarie Weisheim of Washington.
