Season 4, Episode 17: 2026 Recap and Reset (with MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch)

Well, of course, you mentioned where you are going.

You are going to Milwaukee and Tampa because as we're recording this, we now have a World Series matchup.

I don't think it is a surprise to anyone to say at this point that it officially does not include the Yankees.

Obviously, we will talk a little bit about that.

This is our first episode wrapping up, you know, a bitter end to the postseason.

Obviously, Brian, you were there for the whole ride this year from the really incredible highlights that I hope are not forgotten to just...

The brutal way it ended, which, you know, it happens.

It's happened to the Yankees, you know, more often than fans would like, more often than Yankees front office people would like, obviously.

But as we're coordinates, of course, you know, it seems that the Yankees leadership is intact for next year.

We know that now Aaron Boone's coming back, Brian Cashman, obviously.

And, you know, we move forward at this point.

So.

So here's kind of a roadmap for what I want to do today.

I want to talk a little bit about some mile markers.

This is going to be a weird offseason.

We're not going to talk very much about the weirdness of the offseason.

That's just the way it is.

There are plenty of places that you can go to learn all about the weirdness of this upcoming offseason.

That's not what this podcast is.

But I do still want to know from your perspective what things you are looking for as October ends, November begins.

But then let's just go back a little bit over 2026.

I don't want to lose the fun and funny moments from that.

So, you know, first things first, Brian, like just let's let's just talk about it.

You know, Milwaukee versus Tampa, the two best teams in the league all season are matching up in the World Series.

I don't think that is a World Series matchup that anyone would have expected in spring training.
