[clears throat] Many of you know this, but some of you may not.
Uh, my dad, his profession the whole time I was growing up was he was in law enforcement, and he had a police car that he got to take home.
And I don't know if you know this, but police cars have these really, really bright spotlights on them.
Again, don't raise your hand if you've ever had that spotlight on you.
[laughs] But there...
I'm telling you, there is no other light in the world like a police car spotlight.
I remember, my, my parents have some land, some acreage, and, uh, at night sometimes we would shine that beam across the land.
And you could focus it so you could, like, really look directly, or you could spread it out so you could see the whole thing.
And you could see, you know, if there was some cute little deer or turkeys running across, in case you wanted to go out and, like, give them a pet and feed them an apple.
Not shoot them.
[laughs] Definitely not gonna shoot them.
Uh, [laughs] Right.
But I remember that, that light could literally illuminate the entire area.
And it's like, wow, it just seems like it goes on forever and ever.
And [clears throat] every once in a while I'd accidentally walk in front of it, and it'd, like, hit you in the eyes, and it'd be a shock to your system how bright it was and how intense it was.
We know that Jesus came to his own people, and he was this light that they were supposed to be, and they rep- repelled from it.
Yeah.
He came to his own people, but they didn't receive him.
This light came to the world, but it didn't know him.
And [clears throat] it's interesting because in the very beginning of the Bible we learn that we are created to be children of light.
That's where we flourish.
