Aug 10, 2026 · 2 hr 59 min · 12 segments
We’re back to recap 1992 for our season finale episode. What were the highlights and what do our listeners think? Grab a beer and review the year with us.
Uh, all right.
So the first thing we were going to talk about for the, our summary of the year 1992 is, uh, I figured we'd just go over a few of the musical events, uh, that happened throughout the year.
So there was, there was some, there was some pretty big ones.
So let's, let's try and cover a few of them.
Um, The first one we wanted to bring out had to do with a band that we've already covered on the past season, and that was New Kids on the Block.
Remember those guys? I know my sister does.
February 5th, these guys go on the Arsenio Hall show, and the reason they were there is they were there to defend lip-sync accusations.
So as you know, there's all the stuff that happened with Milli Vanilli.
People were very aware of people performing and not actually performing.
And so these guys got accused with that and they went on the talk show to try and put that to rest and say, hey, no, we actually do sing our songs and do the performance.
So let's listen to just a little minute or two clip of them on Arsenio Hall talking about this because this was kind of a big deal at the time.
And I thought it was interesting that the New Kids are the ones that went and kind of defended artists, whether they're lip syncing or not.
Let's hear the clip, Corb.
New Kids on
the
Block.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, now let's hear what they have to say.
Now, I'm going to ask you to hold it down because they've come a long way, many hours, to justify their careers, to save their dignity, their pride, all that kind of, you know what I mean? They are here to speak.
How did you all first hear about
this controversy? I had first heard about it when my manager came to my room in the morning.
Dick Scott came to the room and he He said, yeah, you heard about, you know, so-and-so.
He's supposedly suing Maurice and said you guys didn't sing.
And I laughed.
Uh, all right.
