Slanted and Enchanted

Oh, I'm salivating, right? It's such a wonderful EP.

But before we get to that wonderful EP, we have to wrap up our first long play, which is, of course, Slanted and Enchanted.

So just in the name of mixing things up a little bit, let's, let's spin that track right now.

This is "Our Singer" on Meeting Malkmus, a Pavement podcast.

Yes.

You know? And that's, that's kind of, you know, Slanted and Enchanted, I had that, and, and, and liked, liked those songs and, but was most impressed with his playing, you know? And, um, the, um, uh, just, you, you collect records that are on certain labels.

Exactly.

You know? We did that.

And sometimes I have a hard time thinking of them.

But then I was, I came across Slanted and Enchanted by Pavement and I put it on and I was like, oh, this song, every song

is so

good.

I remember Spin Magazine calling them the bookish Nirvana.

Uh, Slanted and Enchanted came out in '92.

Somehow I missed that.

I remember seeing their name and thinking they were, like, a metal band, like Helmet or something like that, you know? [laughs]
