New Obsession

Good afternoon to you, Gareth.

Good bit of casting news to get through today.

We're starting with Jennifer Lawrence.

What is she up to?

Yeah, she's going to join a new sci-fi thriller feature, which is called The Flood.

And this is from Weapons and Barbarian director Zach Krieger's next film.

So obviously, like, everyone wants to sort of see what he's doing next.

Resident Evil that he's just made, I mean, that's crossed 200 million at the box office worldwide.

So it's overtaken Weapons as his biggest hit to date.

So The Flood follows a deep sea exploration team on board this vessel.

They pick up a strange... signal from a remote planet and investigate only to discover a bizarre alien artefact that starts warping time, reality and the crew's minds.

So Jennifer Lawrence, obviously really attracted to both the director and the project here.

He wrote the script in just five days.

That skill.

Steven Spielberg is going to produce the project.

They've already set a release date for it, August 11th, 2028.

Well,

he's on a good roll, as you say, and obviously a talent.

So we look forward to that one.
