And then most recently, Weapons was one of my favorite films of the last few years, which is a great witch entrant.

We're gonna talk about both of those witches-

It's a movie you and I both really enjoyed from 2025.

Weapons?

Weapons, better known as Weapons.

I might have a little argument with that one.

Hocum, Leviticus, Obsession, Send Help, and Weapons.

So, Jill, have you seen all these pretty much? Is there any you haven't seen yet?

Well, I've seen 28 Years Later, The Bone Temple, The Boner Temple, Back Rooms.

Well, Forbidden Fruits is the one I really wanted to go see, and then it just didn't happen for me.

And I have a lot of theaters around me.

But also, obviously, I've seen Obsession and Weapons.

Did you see Send Help?

Amy Madigan is 76 today.

She played the wife in Field of Dreams, and she won an Oscar last year for her disturbing role in the movie Weapons.

I love that movie.

Amy Madigan.

What did she do here? Field of Dreams, Twice in a Lifetime.

She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in Weapons.

76 years old today.

Happy birthday, Amy Madigan.

Thanks to a rights deal in the '90s, Constantin controls Resident Evil based on the Capcom game from Japan.

First movie came out in 2002, and there have been seven of them, most of them hits, the next one arriving next Friday via Sony and directed by the very hot filmmaker Zach Cregger of Weapons and Barbarian fame.

We'll get into how that happened.

Resident Evil will now have eight live action movies, four animated films, two TV series, a stage play, and dozens of novels and comics.

...

Barbarians was out.

Weapons was not out.

Yeah, that was Zach Kraiger's first big movie.

And when you get into the weeds here, there's a great deal of specificity.

If you look at the overlap between movies like Weapons and the following Annunciation school shooting,

a couple of examples, the school shooting

featured a child crisis actor who was on TV, the voice of the event, talking about everyone in his classroom getting shot and his friend is getting shot and falls on top of him.

So you have a child eyewitness to a mass shooting on the news.

So I go watch Weapons.

It has a child narrator, the sole survivor of an event that took all the children.

In real life, the shooter was a redheaded Nazi witch, very complicated character.

So I'm excited for it.

Again, I thought Weapons was a fantastic movie as well.

I've seen it a few times.

So I'm actually very excited for this take on it and for a new story that comes out of that particular franchise.
