Dylan Clark

On Letterboxd, there's a Blair Witch Project marked 2027.

So next year, directed by Dylan Clark.

And I think he's a YouTuber.

All his other movies are shorts, I believe.

But we really got a coup.

Our director, Dylan Clark, had had several conversations throughout the year with a really exciting up-and-coming actress.

And really to say up-and-coming is kind of... almost like to not do her justice because she was literally just nominated for an Emmy.

She was nominated for a Golden Globe last year.

Um.

and and then now the new one we're you know greg and i especially are this is the most we've been involved um in a blair movie like we you know we've talked to dylan clark the filmmaker and the director and he's awesome and very welcoming and like just very um humble about what he's been you know been able to do on his own as such a young guy and such a young filmmaker and Um, just smart and, you know, we love the script and we feel like it's definitely the right direction for the franchise.

Um, and we've been way more involved with Atomic Monster and Blumhouse and Lionsgate.

And so, you know, we feel like we're part of the team.

I mean, you know, there is like a bittersweet kind of thing where like we, you know, all of us had these plans for the Blair Witch franchise and for some reason, you know, for whatever reason, some, definitely some our fault and some, you know, artisans fault.

You know, we just made some bad decisions and, didn't go our, you know, our way.

So there is this level of like, you know, I mean, even though we couldn't be happier with people like, you know, even Joe Berlinger and, you know, Adam and Simon and, you know, Dylan Clark, like getting involved and being creatively like helming, you know, these movies, you know, there is a level of like, man, you know, I wish they would, you know, let me get in there and do it, you know? But again, it's like, you know, it's, we understand, you know, you know, why we aren't the, you know, the head creatives on it.

And, you know, and we, again, we appreciate being involved and, you know, them letting us kind of, you know, play in this, you know, sandbox that we, you know, created.

Okay, but what is Portrait of God?

So it's based on a short film on YouTube made by Dylan Clark, who is directing the full-

Okay

... length feature film.

Our guy.

This time he's pairing up with one of the biggest names in horror, Jordan Peele, to produce an adaptation of a viral short film called Portrait of God from filmmaker Dylan Clark.

OK, I know nothing about this project, so this is great.

So this was in the news end of last year because there was a bit of like a bidding situation for it.

And like Universal got it, but then it got put into turnaround.

So Lionsgate snapped it up.

And the reason, of course, Lionsgate is in the Dylan Clark business is because Dylan Clark is the filmmaker behind the reimagining of Blair Witch that's coming out next year, September of 2027.

She's back.

I mean- I, I don't have high hopes, I'll be honest.

Uh, the guy who they have hired on to direct it, his name is Dylan Clark, he's actually never done a feature length film.

He's only done short films.

Okay.

Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard alongside Owen Cooper and Hugh Grant.

Lionsgate has acquired Portrait of God which will be a horror flick from the emerging genre filmmaker Dylan Clark based on his viral short of the same name.

Breakout star Chase Infinity is on board to star and the project is officially greenlit.

Very excited about this news here.
