And essentially what I think I was trying to do is I had written these really 12 chapters on what your son needs most.

So, you know, the blog post was about teenage years, but Boy Mom is really about the whole process of raising up boys.

And I wanted to take the 12 things that I had claimed boys need most from their parents and kind of put it into a manifesto.

And I think the heart behind that was that I think moms were more emotional than dads, where, you know, tend to ride by our feelings a lot.

And I wanted to just help moms understand come bring everything together and say, I can decide, I can make a choice for how I approach motherhood.

I can either be led by my feelings and when things are hard, I can be down, or I can make a choice to say, I'm gonna enjoy this.

Instead of being like, oh, poor me, I have all these boys, they're loud, they're messy, they stink.

Instead of that saying, hey, God gave me this position and I'm gonna own it and I'm gonna run with it.

And this is a manifesto that will remind me every day of this high calling because Because I do think being a boy mom and being a parent in general is a high calling.

But it was a way to kind of put everything together and give moms something to look at that they will own, that they'll be proud of their position, and that they'll continue to come back to what your sons need most and keeping it simple and keeping it grounded.

So you've talked about wanting to speak truth and love and share life authentically, humor included.

But how do you hold on to that combination of humor versus truth and love when conversations with your kids get hard? They often do.
