MLVC was on the scene in Times Square to witness Madonna perform! Friend of the podcast Troy joins us (Tony & Liberty are away this week) as we go song by song and deep dive on this instantly iconic…
What's happening? Now, the, the, the, this, the thing I wasn't allowed to tell anyone was, 'cause I had signed a, an NDA, was that Troy pulled some strings and got me and himself on a, a guest list to attend the Grindr pre-party for Madonna's performance.
Now, when that happened, neither of us knew what the performance was going to be.
It just said, "There's a party happening, and you're invited, and you can't say anything about it until after the party." So, uh, we show up at the venue, and Troy, t- Troy, would you wanna talk a little bit about w- what happened?
Yeah.
So, so we show up.
Uh, the venue was at Sony Hall, which is, um, one block from Times Square, and it's, it's like a small kind of club.
It's a performance venue.
There's music playing.
There's a DJ.
Um, and they have a stage set up with two chairs.
So in my mind, I'm thinking, "Okay, she's gonna come out.
There's gonna be conversation." Um, I'm thinking, "Okay, maybe she's gonna perform here.
There's a stage." Um, because it was, you know, it's a Thursday in New York City, and it's 90 degrees, and I was like, "There's no way she's performing outside in this heat."
Yeah.
Totally.
Yeah, so we were kind of, like, just trying to figure it out as we went along.
Um, I was completely in the dark.
I didn't know what was happening.
Um, and then it starts to get a little bit, you know, full.
