This was written in collaboration with Stuart Price, who helped produce a lot more of the Confessions on a Dancefloor album, which they did win a Grammy for.

And I just think, I mean, anybody who's navigated a career in music for 45 years just has to have like an incredible sense of not only their own art in their own creativity, but also kind of be able to merge that with what the public is looking for and be able to be able to navigate that from, you know, 1983, man, was so much has evolved in culture into in music and technology in those 43 years and madonna's always been most of the time not always has always also often been like ahead of the curve on that and i think it just again speaks to like a very wise mind

So the album was, the creative piece of it was in the hands of Stuart Price, who worked with Kylie Minogue and the Scissor Sisters.

The album came together in his home studio in London.

the aesthetic of the Studio 54 kind of disco look to the cover, like, that is always, whenever I even hear Studio 54, I always think about, man, now, I don't know that I would've survived there, but I would love, I just wanna see footage, I wanna hear stories, I wanna be a fly on the wall to what was going on in the Studio 54 days.

All people that have been involved in tracks featured on these only eight tracks, but for the most part, some very well-known names and very well-known songs featured.

And I bet that was intentional as well.

Think of Be In The Mix, the remixes, as Britney's maternity leave placeholder.

She may not be putting out a new studio album until next year, but at least her older songs are getting some new life breathed into them by DJs such as Stuart Price and Peter Rohoffer, known for their work remixing Britney's Mentor, who also has a dance album coming out this month.

Price had previously remixed Breathe On Me for the limited edition bonus disc accompanying Spears' My Prerogative Greatest Hits, but the Jacques Lucant version was faster and brighter with a looped Giorgio Moroder-style beat.

This one, this Thin White Duke remix, is half as long even though it slows the beat down to something slinky and loungy, even slightly off-key.

this remix part would have easily been that deluxe edition or that added second second disc hands down because you had all those remixes on there and i think it made sense that on this album too i mean you had to have baby one more time on there because that's you know signature to brittany at that point

and slave for you was darker But when I looked at the remixers, what I loved was that it crossed the entire gamut of who, I mean, Stuart Price, who was like one of his names, Jacques, he was on there and it's going, okay, so he was on there.

Dava Day, who I interviewed about his remix.

It allows for more personal touches, but it also comes with the pressure to get it right.

That's true, he mentioned learning from working with producers like Stuart Price, which is a cool evolution.

It's like they took those lessons and then said, we can do this ourselves now.
