On the latest Men of a Certain X, Dave and Andy talked about the following topics: - Pushing back against commercialism?! - Pete takes another run through Quantico. - Evaluating the six new DoD…
All right.
Let's talk.
You and I, our great passion is the military and look, we love our men and women who are in the service.
We, you know, obviously it's a high, the call to service is, Like, it's just the highest, I think, level you can go.
And whether that's, you know, service to your country in one form or another, service to your community, you know, it doesn't have to be in the military.
But, you know, just the call to service is really admirable.
And the military has been at it for quite some time, Andy, with the Secretary of Defense, Puffer Pete.
I think Stephen Miller enters the chat and says, hey, wait a minute, what about me? I hate me too, hate me too.
J.D. Vance, you know, kind of gets in there too.
But Puffer Pete, you know, just the arrogance of him is tough.
And so this week it was announced, one, that – 20% of the upper brass, which is general officer level, flag officer level, which would be generals or admirals, are going to be removed.
Now, some people say, well, that's re-baselining because we've really inflated that level over the years.
But When you lose that number, and look, it's one thing over time, you slowly attrit, you consolidate stuff.
But when you lose 20%, let's say by the end of the year, that's a significant gap in leadership and responsibility and stuff.
So that was step one that occurred over the weekend.
Andy, a lot of people are comparing this to some crazy flushing of opposition.
Yeah.
I think it's on the table, the way he's really summarily removed.
And that's not accounting for all the generals and admirals that have left or resigned since he took over in the first place.
And
those that have been eligible, selected, and not promoted.
That's right.
So
it's a tough time.
All right.
