Because I remember several years ago as a pastor realizing that the, this next generation has always had iPads with internet access to free porn their entire childhood.
You know, and, and, you know, being a little bit older, I remember when access to porn was limited to that weird section of the VHS store-
It was like there was a curtain, or maybe someone you knew had a magazine that they were able to get from a store or something.
And then all of a sudden it just turned into, like, full on access to video content.
A- actually at one point as a pastor I worked in an addiction recovery facility, and so I dealt with the brain.
I'm a huge Caroline Leaf fan because, you know, as a neuroscientist she looks at the implications of addiction, you know, on a biological level.
And so for me it's like a- as a pastor, I really have had to learn how to deploy, like, a multifaceted strategy because it's not any one thing.
And I think about that scripture that says, "Whom the son sets free is free indeed." And it's funny because it's like there's free, and then there's free indeed.
And so free could be, like, the absence of pornography, but it's, but it's still present in your mind.
You know, sometimes in AA they'll say, you know, "I, I'm always an alcoholic," because the freedom of, of A- Alcoholics Anonymous for a lot of people is just, "I'm free, but I'm not free indeed.
And so I think for me what I've been helping people understand is that when you look at the life of Christ and the way that he discipled people, and the way that he taught people to be discipled, he was teaching them free indeed.
