Apple Events, iPhone Duo, and OS Betas1:00 – 3:55

1:00

Look for event after event from Apple this month.

1:05

Last week, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said people can anticipate a sort of smart home event coming soon.

1:11

Penciled in for the 13th of October, folks are expecting Apple to announce a new HomePod mini, a new Apple TV 4K, and some sort of home hub, all built around Apple intelligence and Siri AI.

1:26

But the 13th isn't even halfway through the month.

1:29

That leaves plenty of time for another event, which MacRumor says is going to happen.

1:36

According to the site, multiple sources familiar with the matter have another product launch coming later in the month.

1:43

Site doesn't know exactly what Apple will introduce in the second event.

1:47

Possibilities include a new iPad mini, a new iMac, base model MacBook Pro units, and the anticipated MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen display.

1:59

And then splitting all of that up is the iPhone Duo launch.

2:04

Kind of crazy.

2:06

Speaking of iPhone Duo, Apple is finally ready for apps for the folding phone.

2:11

A piece from 9to5Mac had Apple notifying developers on Monday that it is now accepting submissions of iPhone Duo optimized apps and games built with Xcode 27.1.

2:25

The third round of blank OS 27.2 betas is out to developers.

2:30

MacRumors ran a few pieces Monday spreading the word about the next versions, or versions after next, of iOS, iPadOS, macOS Golden Gate, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS.

2:46

Some new stuff we already know is coming.

2:49

Apple's redesigned health app with new insight and longevity tabs, more languages for Siri AI, known quantities.

2:58

That said, new code leaves room for new features, and code monkeys have found references to some of those.

3:06

Par exemple, another piece from MacRumors says the tvOS 27.2 beta suggests Apple is adding a toggle for improved Siri and Apple intelligence to the streaming device.

3:19

While watchers have expected smarter Siri to make it to the TV, this is the closest thing we've had to confirmation.

3:28

A trip across Golden Gate finds support for something else expected.

3:32

Yet another piece from Mac rumors says macOS Golden Gate 27.2 adds code referencing new touch-specific gestures in apps like Safari, Notes, Photos, and Quick Look.

3:46

This is seen by the site as a possible sign Apple is looking to release its rumored OLED touchscreen MacBook in the relatively near future.
