Marcus RansomHost
Selina AliHostNow, Marcus, before we dive in, you had mentioned that you'd given a talk at X-World this year where you talked about the seasonality of the Mac Edmonds world.
And I feel like we need a formal, as we are at the turning of the season as we record this, I feel like we need a formal introduction to the season so that we can reference them here on the show instead of our backward season.

and so this came from this idea where often the diagrams of how you should plan for software releases were linear.

And then 90 days after that, we get deferralpocalypse, which is when all of the things you haven't planned for start to become a problem again.

That's sort of usually it's sort of 0.3. Usually I think might've been a couple of 0.4s where we now start to see, you know, generally all of the things that didn't make the sort of the 0.0 release or the tick release, we get them spread out through the year.

So, you know, I'd love for listeners to come up with their own names for these seasons, but I think that sort of, You think about the way we operate in the calendar, that sort of worked out well for me.

So, you know, if we can come up with names and then, you know, someone in the southern hemisphere, we can stop hearing about the freaking fall release or the spring release because I keep saying the only thing I fall is over and my spring is in my step and not when it is for you.
Well, and I think that that's why I wanted to bring this up because now we have ticked over into September here.
But, you know, we have, you know, we've gotten to this point now where we released and I put something up on my blog.
I made a decision that I don't usually make this year, which is I put the deferral flag up.
What it was was there is enough frictional difference in 27 versus 26 as I didn't want anyone surprised as we are in like heavy festival preparation mode.
As we write this, I'm less than a week away from All Things Go, less than two weeks away from Power to the People, which are our big two festivals at Merriweather at the end of that period.
