Now, on today's episode, we're going to be talking about Rui Hachimura and why he's set to have the best season of his career.
Going to be looking at the things that he said on Media Day, what his role will be without Brandon Ingram.
And the things that he said about the wall, the Clippers organization, the Lakers organization.
And part of it is role, you know, being kind of a focal point of a retooling team.
He's coming from a situation in Washington, D.C., where when he was going to the Lakers, where he was a young player, lottery pick that.
They tried to develop, but then they brought Russell Westbrook in, and they kind of transitioned out of Bradley Beal, so it didn't really work out there.
And then he went to the Lakers and kind of became that role-playing, spot-up shooter that they needed, and he had some really, really good shooting seasons with the Lakers, instantly made an impact in the 2023 season.
But right now, his career high is 13.8 points per game in that season with Russell Westbrook that I referenced earlier.
2020 2021 he's never even averaged 14 points a game so if that's the bar right if he's never even averaged 14 i think for sure he will have his best scoring season ever this year because he's not playing well first off he's in the prime of his career essentially we're talking about a guy who is 28 years old so he's in his prime he's gonna get a good amount of touches just given that we don't really have many creators, you know, especially compared to the Lakers.
Brandon Ingram is not as dynamic as of a shot creator as those other three guys.
So just off of that, he's going to get more of a, you know, have a bigger role.
He's going to have an even bigger role, but The thing that stuck out to me about Rui's media day comments is that he's excited to be here.
It's just something that he's going to have to experience the consequences of as a Clipper.
And then, of course, if he stays for multiple years, right now he's on a two-year deal, you know, next year we don't really have a draft pick.
