You have the ring and the wristband.
CiaraGUEST
15:27
And we also say, Kayla, BetterHelp doesn't have to be a luxury.
CiaraGUEST
15:30
There's no subscription as well, which is awesome.
CiaraGUEST
15:32
The price point is pretty awesome.
Kristina TurnureHOST
38:09
This is not sponsored by any means, but I use growth therapy.
Kristina TurnureHOST
38:12
I've tried BetterHelp.
Kristina TurnureHOST
38:13
I do growth therapy.
Kristina TurnureHOST
38:13
It's all virtual.
Ekta YadavHOST
37:54
You know, I wonder this all the time, Shane.
Ekta YadavHOST
37:55
I'm like, why don't we have places they can go? like Better Health came out and everybody was so excited about Better Help or I think it's Better Help, right? The company.
Ekta YadavHOST
38:04
And everyone was like, oh, you know, you can access like psychiatric care or, you know, like access therapists.
Ekta YadavHOST
38:10
And it was so refreshing to see that because it was like, okay, you can finally get what you need and you don't have to wait three months to see a psychiatrist.
MelHOST
1:38
We absolutely do.
MelHOST
1:40
And those sponsors are Hungry Root, BetterHelp, Wayfair, and Shopify.
MelissaHOST
1:46
All right, we are going to get into a long story short.
MelissaHOST
1:50
We kind of catch you up on some of the things that may have happened over the course of the week.

1 HR 7 MINS LATER

MelHOST
68:51
Oh my gosh, that's not funny.
MelissaHOST
68:53
Yeah, no. Yeah.
MelissaHOST
68:56
BetterHelp
MelHOST
68:57
slash GJ.
Kati MortonHOST
1:56
The first question says, Katie, I feel like I'm constantly asking people if they're mad at me.
Kati MortonHOST
2:02
I used to, I was so guilty of this, I worked in therapy, we'll talk about this, to stop myself.
Kati MortonHOST
2:07
So I feel ya.
Kati MortonHOST
2:09
So I'm constantly asking people if they're mad at me, if we're okay, if I did something wrong, if they still love me.

30 MINS LATER

Kati MortonHOST
32:30
We got to get ready because something, because they're going to be mad at me because I must've done something wrong.
Kati MortonHOST
32:36
And we jump those steps, we jump all the way to that because that's what we were taught.
Kati MortonHOST
32:41
And so in therapy, There's going to be some inner child work where we have to offer some consistency, some, you know, softness, some compassion to our younger self, maybe through letter writing, or I have videos about inner child work if you want to watch them.
Kati MortonHOST
32:56
But it's like our younger self is going to need some of that love, compassion, consistency from us now so that we can heal that wound and start slowly but surely proving to ourselves and our nervous system that not seeking reassurance all the time is okay.
Jason Y. LeeGUEST
37:39
We've got young people who are in the house together for a week, et cetera.
Jason Y. LeeGUEST
37:42
And we worked actually with BetterHelp where they had a BetterHelp room.
Jason Y. LeeGUEST
37:46
And in the BetterHelp room, that's where all of like, not just the confessionals would happen, but a lot of like the, hey, do you need to talk to someone? Like some of this can be a little difficult.
Jason Y. LeeGUEST
37:54
And it just was this thing where Our cast members and the individuals in the house were like, oh, I love that space because it helped me as I'm going through like a really interesting, cool, but sometimes scary experience.
Jason Y. LeeGUEST
38:06
And BetterHelp's like, yeah, we have resources for that, right? And we want to support them in that.
Jason Y. LeeGUEST
38:10
So that's something that we really felt like was a win-win, like a plus to the brand in that way.
Evan ShapiroHOST
38:15
So very organic, too.
Sabrina ZoharGUEST
4:01
I didn't have money for therapy.
Sabrina ZoharGUEST
4:02
And I had started like on BetterHelp.
Sabrina ZoharGUEST
4:03
I was just like, okay, cool.
Sabrina ZoharGUEST
4:04
I'll do something.
Martin HewlettGUEST
25:58
i've i've seen where friendly competition is for me and i want to emulate that competition over the next few years um i have a whole social media campaign to radio and tv that's set and coordinated and spreadsheeted so that i can stay on top of it Six months ago, I did email five, seven huge brands, you know, global net turnover of 5 billion.
Martin HewlettGUEST
26:31
So we're talking Calm, Headspace, BetterHelp, Thorn, Ritual.
Martin HewlettGUEST
26:36
But the show was then about 65,000 to 70,000 downloads a month.
Martin HewlettGUEST
26:40
Now we've just surpassed 100,000.
John DelonyHOST
20:23
And what if I mess this all up? It is awesome to have somebody to talk to.
John DelonyHOST
20:29
Call my friends at BetterHelp.
John DelonyHOST
20:30
Go see somebody.
John DelonyHOST
20:31
Get a group of men that you trust that you can be honest with and not just say it out loud, but will give you some skills to practice.
Lisa FevralHOST
1:00
The video in question is called Progressive Creators, Fascist Sponsors.
Lisa FevralHOST
1:05
He talks about specifically two examples in more depth, which is Mina Lee taking an AI sponsorship and the Needle Drop or Anthony Fantano taking the BetterHelp sponsorship, right? And I want to talk about not the fact that they took those sponsorships per se, but about what this shows us about creator economy being a very public and visual representation, easy to kind of comment on.
Lisa FevralHOST
1:40
representation of what is going on in all of our businesses all of the areas of expertise all of the career tracks where all of us are running into the same fucking issue which is the fact that you basically cannot go anywhere get anywhere in your career in your life if you're not doing some evil shit or subscribing to some evil shit which is demoralizing exhausting and also something that is showing us very directly why this system by this system I mean capitalism why it cannot stay why it cannot be fixed because it's not like there's nothing to be fixed capitalism was supposed to function this way the way that it's working right now is exactly what it was created for it's doing exactly what it was doing before except now that people from um you know countries like America Canada like all the European Western European countries are experiencing their own evil you know turned back towards them suddenly everybody's like okay so this is not feeling particularly great you know a few things that are kind of like introducing this idea so elliot sang talked about mina lee and anthony fontano with mina lee she's made videos before she's commented on many things criticizing capitalism and stuff like that obviously it was all still a right-wing type of approach which is like basically an american thinking that they're leftist just because they're not literally foaming at the mouth to, I don't know, execute a bunch of minorities.
Lisa FevralHOST
3:10
I don't know what's up with America and why you think that it's leftist to just be like, not crazy right wing and just being moderately right wing.

18 MINS LATER

Lisa FevralHOST
21:43
influencers, live streamers, youtubers, tiktokers, all of that shit is just a very very public display of what is going on in our society right now which is everybody is doing things for the money either because they're forced to because they don't have the guts or the backbone to say no or because they're evil and the rest are literally pushed out into the streets What are we going to do about that? Because I'm going to be real with you.
Lisa FevralHOST
22:17
the deals on youtube the businesses that work on youtube so i genuinely i okay so i used to have i used to have a management like a company that managed specifically my deals with those businesses um were they helpful no were they useful no should i have worked with them honestly no they were kind of like little leeches to be honest with you however like they did bring in deals for me because a lot of companies kind of work with those agencies right and i have been saying no to better help i was saying no to um you know i kind of learned about that uh because at first i didn't realize that it was like kind of like a weird company or whatever something about the estates or whatever the fuck where you could like name like a piece of or like buy a piece of land scotland something like that there was another one um things like erup which is also just such a gimmick um like all of them suck right but i was saying no to specifically those that were scammy in a very direct way or they were related to israel that was even before I think it was maybe before 2024 or whatever the fuck.
Lisa FevralHOST
23:37
And I said no to BetterHelp and I said no to another company.
Lisa FevralHOST
23:42
I can't remember what that company was, but I said no.
