Ghosting God - week 3 | How do I follow a God who loves the people I don't

I wish there was a place called the land of begin again.

That's exactly where our hero, the character that we're looking at, not really a hero up to this point, Jonah finds himself.

So we've been looking in the last couple of weeks at the story of Jonah.

Let me give you, in true Netflix style, the story so far, okay? Jonah is a prophet of God and God tells this guy to go to this place called Nineveh, capital of Assyria, and speak against it because the wickedness of this city is too much for God and he's gonna wipe him out.

Jonah doesn't respond.

He just ghosts God.

In other words, he goes silent.

He gets on a ship and he goes the opposite direction.

But God, when you ghost God, God doesn't ghost you.

God sends a storm to stop him and the sailors throw him into the sea.

He drops down into the sea.

God sends a fish to swallow him.

And from the inside of the fish, Jonah stops ghosting God, starts talking to God again.

Something changes in his heart.

Something changes in his life.

And God then causes the fish to vomit Jonah onto the land.

So he's in the place where where he was meant to be all the time.

He is in the land of begin again.

And that's where we are gonna pick it up today.

In Jonah chapter three, it says this.

Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time.

Say second time.

A second time.

And what does he say a second time? This is exactly the same thing that he said the first time.

Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.
