We're just going to jump straight into The Shining.
I'm a movie whore.
What can I say? You slut.
That's right.
We're going to start off with The Shining, which came out in 1980.
This was directed by Stanley Kubrick, written by Stephen King, Stanley Kubrick, and Diane Johnson.
This stars Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance, Shelley Duvall as Wendy Torrance, Danny Lloyd as Danny...
Slash Tony slash stuff.
And Scatman Carruthers as Harlan.
My few fun facts that
I...
Scatman.
Goddamn legend.
Um...
Or however they go.
So, again, this is one of those movies that I felt like I couldn't find any new information on because I knew, at least I thought I knew everything, you know, behind the scenes.
As did I. I found some things that I never knew, and they all kind of connect with each other.
So, for the scene in which Jack breaks down the bathroom door, the props department built a door that could be easily broken.
But nobody told the props department that Jack Nicholson had worked as a volunteer fire marshal and tore it apart far too easily.
So, branching off of that, according to Shelley Duvall, the famous here's Johnny scene took three days to film and the use of 60 doors.
Oh, wow.
Which I can only imagine that he just kept, like, breaking shit down in the props department.
It was like, we're running out of doors.
