Yeah, right?

Danny? Danny Torrance, right? Yeah, and Danny, he could be argued to be the strongest Shine user, but we don't really get to see much of Kerry White evolve with those powers.

I feel like Kerry White is stronger.

Yeah, for all the debates that I've heard, everybody agrees that Kerry has the most control.

I didn't even know they used it.

I don't either.

The only shine users I know are Danny Torrance and Carrie.

No.

And I think he chose wisely.

And for the child actor on the casting front, another interesting story behind this, Danny Lloyd plays Danny Torrance.

He was only five years old during filming, and he was chosen out of 5,000 interviews, 5,000 cast interviews.

All right.

So after losing his job at a swanky private school in Vermont, Jack Torrance moves with his wife, Wendy, and their five-year-old son, Danny, to a remote mountain in the Colorado Rockies where he's going to serve as the winter caretaker of a storied hotel called The Overlook.

Jack's a recovering alcoholic and a struggling writer, and he thinks the months of seclusion are going to help him stay clean, and he's maybe finally going to finish the play that he's been working on.

But he's not the only one with a haunted past, and the Overlook has ideas of its own.

Before they even arrive, Danny, their little boy, he has a form of ESP that he comes to call the Shining, and he begins to see visions of horrors and violence that the Overlook has in store for him and for his parents.

The snow piles up, the phones go out, and the overlook turns up the terror.

There are dead women in bathtubs, topiary animals coming to life, masked partygoers from decades past returning to the hotel bar, and the family began to lose their minds and turn on each other.

Rescued at the last minute by the Overlook's cook, whom Danny briefly met and bonded with over their shared shining abilities, and was able to call back from Florida with his mind, Danny and Wendy escape just before the Overlook's famously temperamental boiler explodes and the hotel goes up in flames with Jack inside.

You could say the same, though, of Abra Stone from Dr.

Sleep, or the same thing about Dan Torrance from The Shining, or Danny Torrance from The Shining.

How the various Stephen King worlds connect is always on my mind.

And so that's the end of this article, but unrelated to this, but during the Carrie Press tour, he mentioned he would love to maybe try his hand at a Jaws film, as well as he also said he would love to do a Jurassic Park movie, so long as he'd be allowed to make it scary.

Honest to God, I genuinely think that Flanagan's even teased the idea of maybe you swap stuff out.

I genuinely think that's Ted Brodigan going to Dan Torrance, and you get Ewan McGregor playing that role.

Again, those are both Warner Brothers properties, so I don't know how you get one and not the other, but And how they wouldn't be more protective of Dan Torrance, the adult version of the fucking Shining Kid.

Jack Torrance is a writer, former teacher, and recovering alcoholic who takes a job as the winter caretaker of the Overlook Hotel, a massive Colorado resort that shuts down when the snow makes it almost completely inaccessible.

He brings his wife, Wendy, and their young son, Danny, who has a psychic ability and an imaginary friend named Tony who lives inside of his mouth.

Then the hotel empties, the snow comes down, Danny starts seeing pieces of the Overlook's violent past, Jack starts talking to people who should be dead.

And as things become increasingly more and more claustrophobic, we wonder if the Overlook is haunted, Jack is losing his mind, or a combination of both.

Will Wendy and Danny survive the winter, or will Jack Torrance decide to correct them?

this is my favorite horror movie of all time this is my favorite stanley kubrick movie of all time if pressed if i really stop to consider it this might actually be my just favorite movie of all time period because to me this movie is more than a fight club

He wants the influence of the hotel, but he seems to be way more interested in the supernatural and how it relates to the psychological.
