To the degree that your expectations meet your reality, that's your level of fulfillment and contentment.

And this gap between what we'd expected or hoped or envisioned and what we're experiencing is often the space where we experience disappointment and discontentment, dissatisfaction, disillusionment.

Many of us feel like we're lacking in our lives because we're going in our life with a level of disappointment because we don't have much money, We don't have a nice house.

And then our experience is a far cry from what we envision the good life to be.

But the problem is we have a mistaken vision of what prosperity is in the first place.

We are taught in this world to value and cherish things that the Bible says aren't actually that valuable.

We live our lives in search of treasures that the scripture reveals to be fool's gold.

Fool's gold is a metal that upon first glance looks like valuable, precious gold, but once it's exposed to time and the elements, it reveals itself to be anything but.

And the world has overvalued things that in the end turns out to be fool's gold.

But we inevitably run into disappointment when our definition of the good life is still according to the value system of the world.
