Now, I'm not here to argue the verdict with you.

I wanna talk about the million dollars and about where the blame went while everybody was looking at her.

Lindsay Clancy is charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

She pleaded not guilty.

Her defense has never argued that she did not kill her children.

What they're contesting is criminal responsibility, and their argument is postpartum psychosis, a bipolar disorder nobody has diagnosed, on top of what her lawyers call a disorganized course of medication that made all of it worse.

There are four ways this ends, and only one of them is the one the internet is arguing about.

First degree murder is life without parole.

Second degree murder is still life, but with a parole date.

Involuntary manslaughter is a number of years.

And not criminally responsible is a locked state psychiatric hospital with periodic review and possible release someday.

There's no version of this where she walks out of that building today.

She didn't testify.

She's in a wheelchair because after she killed her children, she took pills, cut her wrists and her neck, and went out a second-story window.

She's paralyzed from the sternum down.

Now, I'm also not going to tell anyone what the verdict should be.

I was not in that courtroom, and 12 people who sat through 84 witnesses over 21 days of testimony are better positioned than I am to answer a legal question.

But there's a part of the record almost nobody defending her online is talking about.

In the prosecution's evidence presented in open court, the jury may believe it or it may not.

It's worth walking through slowly because the crowd outside that courthouse has decided not to know it.
