After Cora's doctor's appointment, they made their way back home to 47 Summer Street in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

It was a cold winter morning.

Heavy snow had fallen the night before.

Patrick was in and out of the restaurant in about a minute.

Then from there, he gets in his truck to drive back home.

The trip from the restaurant back to their house in Duxbury took him roughly 12 minutes.

According to Patrick, he arrived home at 6:09 PM.

The morning of January 24th, 2023 dawned cold and bright in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Fresh snow covered the ground.

Duxbury is the sort of place New England produces particularly well.

Old houses, beaches, boat ramps, church steeples, and winding roads lined with trees.

It's all quite picturesque.

I'm CBS News correspondent Chanel Call, and in this special episode of Case by Case, we're really getting into what it takes to serve on a high-stakes jury.

Lindsay Clancy, of course, is the Duxbury mother tried for killing her three young children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan.

This case ended in a mistrial, and it was marked by some pretty intense testimonies and graphic evidence.

This includes autopsy photos of 8-month-old Callan Clancy and that chilly 911 call that Lindsay's ex-husband Patrick made on the night of the killings.

And again, quickly put the facts on the table before we lose sight of what the whole case was even about.

She admitted she strangled Cora, Dawson, and Callen, ages 5, 3, and 8 months respectively, in January of 2023, then jumped from a window.

The question at trial was never, did she do it? No.

That's false.

The Massachusetts police and the Duxbury police did a full, they went through all the devices he had.

That's misinformation.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts originally brought three charges of first-degree murder against Lindsay in the death of her three kids, five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan.

Lindsay admitted to strangling the kids in the basement of her Duxbury, Massachusetts home on January 24th, 2023.

As part of her defense, Lindsay argued she wasn't criminally responsible because she was in the throes of postpartum psychosis at the time of their deaths.

Now, the facts of this case are so disturbing, and yet it's still become a major spectacle.
