The Chiefs are now 2-0 after taking down the Colts 33-30 in overtime.
And this is more than just a 2-0 start for Kansas City.
In my opinion, this is the beginning of the Chiefs entering a second prime as a dynasty.
Last year was not the beginning of the end for the Mahomes-Andy Reid Chiefs dynasty.
This organization needed, they needed some new faces, some new blood and some new changes.
And one of those big changes was becoming less Patrick Mahomes centric offensively for the, The last couple of years, ever since Kansas City traded away Tyreek Hill, they didn't really have anything on offense outside of Mahomes magic.
Mahomes can elevate anybody that we have at receiver, anybody that we might have at running back.
We don't need to be able to run the football.
Running the football is more so a luxury than it is a necessity.
And eventually...
Kansas City got put in the box.
They became too predictable.
Everybody knew how they wanted to run their offense.
They wanted to dink and dunk their way downfield because they lacked the explosiveness at receiver that they used to have with Tyreek Hill.
And eventually the league caught on and Kansas City had to make changes.
They got too stale.
So what were the changes that Kansas City made? They changed their identity offensively and they also, change their coordinator now previously Matt Nagy was KC's offensive coordinator but he left and they brought back Airbnb to replace him when the Chiefs last were at their best Airbnb was the offensive coordinator and he seems to be one of those guys that is only good with Kansas City everywhere else he's not really that great so Kansas City would bring it back Airbnb who would has made his calling as a running back coach, what do they invest in a free agency? Who is their most prized possession out of this offseason? Kenneth Walker.
Now the ground game is a focal point of Kansas City's offense.
You have seen in these first two games, Andy Reid and his coaching staff put an emphasis on establishing the run.
There'll be certain games when they come out and they run it three straight times in a row.
That's Andy Reid trying to establish a new identity, which is we no longer are going to be married to this air-rate style of offense with Mahomes coming back from this ACL injury.
