The Fourth Commandment (Exodus 20:7-11)

We are in the book of Exodus as we walk through these commandments on Sunday evenings.

Exodus chapter 20, verse 7.

Exodus chapter 20, verse 7.

I'm sorry, verse 8.

Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Six days you shall labor and do all your work.

But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.

On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male servant or your female servant or your livestock or the sojourner who is within your gates.

For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day.

Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Father in heaven, as we think about this fourth commandment, I pray that you would help us to understand this commandment, one that's a little bit different than the others.

But I pray that you'd shed your light on it and that we may grow in grace by our understanding of it.
