Episode #27 - "You're The Voice" - Rich Eames

We didn't do a lot of racing because our parents weren't digging it.

But – We're here all these years later doing a BMX podcast with people from all around the world still involved in BMX.

It's amazing how – and yourself.

I mean, we ask riders when we have them on here, tell me about your journey.

But for especially you, Rich, it's like you've watched the journey.

Tell us what you've seen.

You know what I mean? Yeah.

It's kind of different for, like, between athletes and what your vision of the sport, what have you seen sort of thing.

So that's why I'm really interested in this party with you because,

yeah,

it's super, super cool.

You've seen so much.

So just

to circle back a little bit, you're saying that it's really thriving in the UK at the moment.

Can you put it down to why that is? Like, is it...

Yeah,

I think...

I think we had a lot of positivity and a lot of people get interested in the sport after Beth and Kate won their medals in Tokyo.

We saw an uplift then.

We saw an uplift after the London Olympics as well.

And I think social media has had a lot to do with it as well.

But I think scenes thrive from having a good local track.

And if you've got a track on your doorstep, It's almost just like, you know, it's your gateway drug into the sport.

Do you know what I mean? You just go.

When you go for gate practice one night and it's like, this is amazing.
