Since, as I mentioned, we're recording this on a Tuesday, there is no injury report from the Chiefs yet, but we do have a lot of injury news, surprisingly newsy and not even in a bad way.
In fact, I think most of these are pretty positive.
Andy Reid gave us the first real update on Josh Simmons in probably about three weeks, a month.
He's doing everything.
He's working his tail off.
We knew it'd be a couple games.
He's making progress.
We'll see where he's at.
We've got to see if that thing has calmed down and if some of the swelling has calmed down.
He went on to add that he's been in the facility, that he has been with the team.
clearing up any misconceptions about that.
A few things with this to unpack.
First of all, this was like a very normal Andy Reid injury update.
And one has to wonder why we couldn't have gotten this very normal injury update a month ago when this all first kind of came out instead of the very strange injury update that we did.
And then the complete lack of updates that we got for the last couple of weeks, uh, we knew it'd be a couple of games.
That's, that's new information.
We haven't heard that before that they, you know, they've been calling him day to day.
And, uh, certainly some of the beat reporters were saying he's not going to play in week one.
And obviously we, we knew, you know, midway through last week when he wasn't practicing, he wasn't going to play in week two, but it sounds like the chiefs have always prepared or, or maybe they're lying.
Who knows? Some of the swelling has calmed down.
This is new information that, that there's swelling involved.
Just, just a lot to unpack here.
It's a complicated and weird situation.
