Yeah, so this is something that people ask me about a lot, and I think generally, You know, Waymo's sort of peer-reviewed studies.

Waymo's better than most other companies at releasing these peer-reviewed research, especially better than Tesla.

Tesla, source, I told you so.

Yeah.

Its own research has said that its cars are safer than humans for a while.

Now we have... more like third-party analysis that is coming to the same conclusion.

So according to a new study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, IIHS, Waymos get into fewer crashes than human drivers.

So they accounted for the miles traveled and the number of crashes.

And they found that Waymo's driverless vehicles in San Francisco, Phoenix, L.A. and Austin were involved in 68 percent fewer crashes than human drivers.

This is based on data from 2021 to 2024.

When Waymo's traveled 50 million miles across those cities, human drivers crashed.

Kind of crazy amount.

I don't think anybody would guess how much people actually drive.

Human drivers covered 222 billion miles in those cities over the same period, according to IIHS.

Some more stats, Waymo vehicles were involved in 85% fewer single vehicle crashes.

Okay.

And 81% fewer injury crashes per vehicle mile traveled.

I just called the results encouraging for the future of AVs.

Yeah.

And, you know, there's sort of a serendipitous aspect to this.

I was at a conference this week, the Society of Automotive Engineers International, the SAE International Automated Transportation Symposium.

And Eric Toteo gave a talk on, you know, the idea of how we need to validate auto AV safety.
